κατάκαυμα ἀντὶ κατακαύματος, τραῦμα ἀντὶ τραύματος, μώλωπα ἀντὶ μώλωπος. burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise. כויה תחת כויה פצע תחת פצע חבורה תחת חבורה׃   *   bruise for bruise OR stripe for stripe OR weal for weal

ὀφθαλμὸν ἀντὶ ὀφθαλμοῦ, ὀδόντα ἀντὶ ὀδόντος, χεῖρα ἀντὶ χειρός, πόδα ἀντὶ ποδός, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, עין תחת עין שׁן תחת שׁן יד תחת יד רגל תחת רגל׃    

ἐὰν δὲ ἐξεικονισμένον ἦν, δώσει ψυχὴν ἀντὶ ψυχῆς, but if it is fully formed, he shall give life for life, ואם־אסון יהיה ונתתה נפשׁ תחת נפשׁ׃   *   ἦν | ᾖ
