Εἶπεν δὲ Σάρα πρὸς Ἀβράμ· Ἰδοὺ συνέκλεισέν με Κύριος τοῦ μὴ τίκτειν· εἴσελθε οὖν πρὸς τὴν παιδίσκην μου, ἵνα τεκνοποιήσῃς ἐξ αὐτῆς. ὑπήκουσεν δὲ Ἀβρὰμ τῆς φωνῆς Σάρας.
Then Sara said to Abram, “Behold, the LORD has shut me from giving birth; go therefore to my maidservant, so that you may beget children through her.” Then Abram listened to the voice of Sara.
ותאמר שׂרי אל־אברם הנה־נא עצרני יהוה מלדת בא־נא אל־שׁפחתי אולי אבנה ממנה וישׁמע אברם לקול שׂרי׃
