Καὶ ἐπωνόμασεν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ τόπου ἐκείνου Πειρασμὸς καὶ Λοιδόρησις διὰ τὴν λοιδορίαν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ καὶ διὰ τὸ πειράζειν Κύριον λέγοντας· Εἰ ἔστιν Κύριος ἐν ἡμῖν ἢ οὔ;
And he named the name of that place Testing and Reviling, because of the reviling of the children of Israel and because they tested the LORD, saying, “Is the LORD among us or not?”
ויקרא שׁם המקום מסה ומריבה על־ריב בני ישׂראל ועל נסתם את־יהוה לאמר הישׁ יהוה בקרבנו אם־אין׃
