Ἐκάλεσεν δὲ ὁ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου τὰς μαίας καὶ εἶπεν αὐταῖς· Τί ὅτι ἐποιήσατε τὸ πρᾶγμα τοῦτο καὶ ἐζωογονεῖτε τὰ ἄρσενα;
And the king of Egypt called the midwives and said to them, “Why is it that you have done this thing and keep alive the males?”
ויקרא מלך־מצרים למילדת ויאמר להן מדוע עשׂיתן הדבר הזה ותחיין את־הילדים׃
