Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ Θεός· Τὸ ὄνομά σου Ἰακὼβ· οὐ κληθήσεται ἔτι Ἰακὼβ, ἀλλ᾿ Ἰσραὴλ ἔσται τὸ ὄνομά σου. καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰσραήλ.
And God said to him, “Your name is Iakob; you shall no longer be called Iakob, but Israel shall be your name.” And he called his name Israel.
