Εἶπεν δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν· Ἰδὼν εἶδον τὴν κάκωσιν τοῦ λαοῦ μου τοῦ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ τῆς κραυγῆς αὐτῶν ἀκήκοα ἀπὸ τῶν ἐργοδιωκτῶν· οἶδα γὰρ τὴν ὀδύνην αὐτῶν·
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Seeing I saw the maltreatment of my people in Egypt and I have heard their cry caused by the taskmasters; for I know their suffering;
ויאמר יהוה ראה ראיתי את־עני עמי אשׁר במצרים ואת־צעקתם שׁמעתי מפני נגשׂיו כי ידעתי את־מכאביו׃

* suffering OR pain OR affliction OR sorrow
