Ὡς δὲ ἐξαπέστειλεν Φαραὼ τὸν λαόν, οὐχ ὡδήγησεν αὐτοὺς ὁ Θεὸς ὁδὸν γῆς Φυλιστιὶμ, ὅτι ἐγγὺς ἦν· εἶπεν γὰρ ὁ Θεός· Μήποτε μεταμελήσῃ τῷ λαῷ ἰδόντι πόλεμον, καὶ ἀποστρέψῃ εἰς Αἴγυπτον.
Then when Pharao sent the people away, God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Phylistiim, because it was near; for God said, ‘Lest the people regret when they see war, and return to Egypt.’
ויהי בשׁלח פרעה את־העם ולא־נחם אלהים דרך ארץ פלשׁתים כי קרוב הוא כי אמר אלהים פן־ינחם העם בראתם מלחמה ושׁבו מצרימה׃
