Καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν, ἀλλὰ εἶπεν· Οἶδα, τέκνον, οἶδα· καὶ οὗτος ἔσται εἰς λαόν, καὶ οὗτος ὑψωθήσεται, ἀλλὰ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ νεώτερος μείζων αὐτοῦ ἔσται, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ἔσται εἰς πλῆθος ἐθνῶν.
And he would not, but said, “I know, son, I know; and this one shall be a people, and this one shall be exalted, but his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude of nations.”
וימאן אביו ויאמר ידעתי בני ידעתי גם־הוא יהיה־לעם וגם־הוא יגדל ואולם אחיו הקטן יגדל ממנו וזרעו יהיה מלא־הגוים׃
