Genesis 39:1

Ἰωσὴφ δὲ κατήχθη εἰς Αἴγυπτον, καὶ ἐκτήσατο αὐτὸν Πετεφρῆς ὁ εὐνοῦχος Φαραὼ, ἀρχιμάγειρος, ἀνὴρ Αἰγύπτιος, ἐκ χειρὸς Ἰσμαηλιτῶν, οἳ κατήγαγον αὐτὸν ἐκεῖ.

Now Ioseph was brought down to Egypt, and Petephres the eunuch of Pharao, a chief butcher, an Egyptian man, acquired him from the hand of the Ismaelites, who brought him down there.

ויוסף הורד מצרימה ויקנהו פוטיפר סריס פרעה שׂר הטבחים אישׁ מצרי מיד הישׁמעאלים אשׁר הורדהו שׁמה׃

 

* χειρὸς | χειρῶν
* Ἰσμαηλιτῶν | Ἰσμαηλειτῶν
* chief butcher/executioner OR chief cook OR head chef. Ἀρχιμάγειρος – from ΜΑΓ, root of μάσσω (q. v.), because baking bread was the business of the ancient cook.
